Nina Wilcox Putnam, author, was born in New Haven, Connecticut, the daughter of Marrion Wilcox, a professor of English at Yale, and Eleanor Patricia Sanchez. Putnam was educated at home and published her first piece, a short story, in 1907. She married Robert Faulkner Putnam of the publishing family in 1907; Robert J.
